Acupuncture for Labor

Besides using Acupuncture during pregnancy to help with repositioning for breech babies, did you know it is naturally effective for labor preparation as well as initiating labor itself?

Just as Licensed Acupuncturists are trained to know, there are several points that are contraindicated - and therefore avoided - during the majority of pregnancy.

When I work with clients who are 36-38 Weeks along, although labor points are still refrained from, I curate a safe selection whose combined intentions offer the mind and body messages of support so you can more readily surrender to the threshold ahead.

It is once you reach 39 weeks that points known to initiate labor are introduced along with others chosen with respect to the depth of your being & birth plan.
They do so by working *with* your body to stimulate the opening of the cervix, the free flow of the water passageways (meridians that influence the uterus), as well as the descent of energy, aka Qi.

Other benefits of Acu during pregnancy if you are preparing for labor or looking to invite its arrival are:

🤍 Strengthen your constitution & energy to meet the demands of labor ahead. The more Qi the better.

🤍 Cultivate embodied awareness of cues from within so that you feel more connected to your vessel, energy, baby, and intuition going into labor.

🤍 Promote pain relief with its natural analgesic, mood-elevating, & inflammation-clearing effects.

🤍 Transmute trauma & energetic, emotional imprints pre-birth (fear, worry, anger and grief being some of the most common shared by clients) so you can feel more clear and grounded going into your birth portal.

🤍 Regulate your nervous system to maintain healthy adaptability in your stress response & feel empowered in the midst of your transformation - in wading through the liminal realm of labor ~ the space between you & your baby’s arrival, but also your rebirth.
